The Orange Pumps PressMatic and MassControl switches are easy to install, reliable and functional. When the pressure drops to the"cut in" pressure the switch automatically turns the pump on. The switch turns the pump off when the flow stops. Pressure fluctuations are reduced as the pump does not cycle on and off during demand.
The switch protects the pump from "Loss of prime" when there is no water from the supply. When there is no flow and no pressure the pump is turned off protecting internal component from heat damage.
As there is only a small amount of water drawn off from the inbuilt diaphragm a dripping tap or leaking pipe can cause the switch to turn the pump on. A gate valve can be installed on the discharge port of the switch to isolate it from pressure drops and to check if there is a leak. A pressure tank can be installed down flow from the switch to increase the water draw off.
The PressMatic and MassControl switches are not recommended on power generators or in areas of poor power supply. Electrical surge protection can be installed for protection against power fluctuations.
