Choose a water powered pump for an environmentally friendly solution and great savings on energy costs.
The pump body is fitted with a stainless steel or polyester venturi sleeve. A ventui is similar to two aeroplane wings which have been inverted and this shape is formed into a round tube. When high speed water or air from the pump jet is passed over the airfoil shape, it creates a low pressure (or vacuum) at the throat. The surrounding atmospheric pressure then pushes the waste water, sand, gravel, air, etc, into the venturi sleeve. The length, shape and diameter of this sleeve in relationship to the diameter of the high speed water jet, plus the pressure of the jet stream, determine how high it will support the column of waste water. The flow rate is determined by the diameter and is varied by the height of the column of waste and the resistance caused by diameter and/or length of the pipe or hose being used to transport the waste – the high pressure jet water mixes with, and goes out with, the waste. With a 25mm discharge hose about 3m long attached to the pump it will work on a ratio of approximately 4 to 1 at a one metre head when operated with a water supply pressure of 550kPa at the pump and will use about 16.6 litres per minute from the garden hose supply. It will pump approx- imately 60 to 70 litres/minute of waste. With 50mm. discharge about 80L/min.
